In 2011, nearly 25,000 residents moved from Miami-Dade County to Broward County, making it the largest county-to-county migration in Florida.

The U.S. Census Bureau released figures on last week ranking the migration of former Miami-Dade residents into Broward County as the sixth biggest county-to-county migration flow in the nation, being beat out by only that of migrations flowing into and out of Los Angeles and its surrounding counties.

More than 11,000 Broward residents moved to Miami-Dade in 2011, so Broward had a net gain of only 13,000 residents from Miami-Dade County.
