Vacant Trump condo-hotel bought by Hilton

The vacant Fort Lauderdale Beach condo-hotel that was to be called Trump International has been purchased by Hilton Worldwide with plans to operate it as the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Resort and Residences. The sale of the 24-story tower closed just before Christmas at $115 million by CFLP Partnership, a group that owns the nearby Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort.

The new owners, CFLB Partnership, has reportedly started a massive $34 million renovation to the property which is expected to be completed for a 2015 opening.The 290-room resort will offer one, two, three, and four-bedroom units starting at around $450,000. 

Donald Trump pulled his name from the condo-hotel project after a series of lawsuits and bankruptcy filing four years ago.
